Final Founder Takes the Chair
posted on 19 December 2016
On Friday 2nd December, at the 31st Installation Meeting of the Lodge, W. Bro. LACM Denis Woodhams, P.Prov.S.G.D., (Warks), the last of our Founders finally made it to the Chair of King Solomon.
Denis could have taken the Chair in 1992 but stood aside to allow W. Bro. Commander Barry Tenison the opportunity. He then found that his business commitments precluded him for many years from seeking the opportunity again.
Denis is a longstanding Member of Apollo Lodge which meets in Alcester, Warwickshire, not far from where he has the hub of his business, The Arrow Mill Hotel, and his service to that Lodge has earned him Provincial Promotion to P.Prov.S.G.D.
With great support from his Mother Lodge and with the Provincial Team in attendance the Installation Meeting proved to be an excellent evening and the Lodge looks forward to working with our WM for the ensuing year, where we have an Initiation in January, a Raising in March and a Passing in October. Each meeting taking place on the last Friday of the month.
Visitors will always be made extremely welcome to the Lodge so do come along and spend a night with “The Navy”Denis has already laid out his plans for his Social Events which includes a trip to RNAS Yeovilton, where Denis spent several years as part of the Commando Helicopter Squadrons, 845,846 and 847. This visit will coincide with our renewing our friendship with Navy Lodge which meets in Yeovil.
