WHELKS at The Lenches Course at the Vale GC
posted on 15 June 2016
It would appear that we have really uoset the “Rain Gods” this year as, once again, we set out in the rain to attempt to control the Lenches Golf Course. There were periods where it was dry but most of us were dressed in our wet suits for the Full Round.
Unfortunately the last two Groups were caught on the last 3 Holes in the biggest downpour of the day which did not help their scores.
Once again our New Member, Chris Firminger, made a mockery of both his Club and WHELKS Handicap with a splendid Gross Round of 84 which put him 7 shots clear of his nearest rival. He has once again been reviewed by the Handicap Secretary who has cut him to a Handicap of 6. The claim is that we will eventually “Tame” him.
Our next game will be at Bromsgrove GC on Tuesday 19th July,(1 week later than normal due to the AGM of WMGS at Kings Norton). If anyone reading this would like to play at Bromsgrove our erstwhile Organiser Bob Sweeting would love to hear from you.
